How Owen Wilson had his Rolling Stones lifetime pass revoked in 24 hours

‘You Can’t Always Get What You Want’ — even if you’re Owen Wilson.

Owen Wilson has admitted that he suffered the loss of a lifetime over one “bozo” stunt.

The 54-year-old actor is a long-time Stones fan, as the band was even Wilson’s first-ever concert. The actor went to the Stones’ ‘Tattoo You Tour’ in the early ‘80s, and never looked back.

Now, having received an all-access lifetime pass to Rolling Stones concerts through a long-time friend who had a special connection, he totally blew it after one day.

The night of the big incident

Making an appearance on ‘The Late Late Show With James Corden’ Tuesday night, Wilson recounted the experience that cost him the Rolling Stones golden ticket.

Wilson, poking around and exploring the venue, accidentally walked onstage while Mick Jagger crooned out ‘Jumpin’ Jack Flash’.

“I was kind of friendly with some of the band and then my friend was really good friends with Mick Jagger,” Wilson explained. “We got these special laminates, kind of all access [passes], that were good for the rest of your life.”

“That night, at the concert,” he continued, “I’m kind of wandering around and testing it out — like, ‘I’m going to walk over here and see if anybody stops me.’ And no one would stop me any place.”

“I ended up right at this place where I could look over and see Mick Jagger on the stage, and right there and then, all of a sudden, he bolts during ‘Jumpin’ Jack Flash’ and comes running down.”

The ‘How Do You Know’ actor said that he was as startled as Jagger, as the rock star ran at him wildly.

“It turns out, where I was, was kind of part of the stage a little bit,” Wilson continued, “so I just sort of froze and tried to be inconspicuous, and he kinda came down and left.”

“And then someone came running over [shouting], ‘Get out of here! Move! You’re not supposed to be here!’ And I [said], ‘I didn’t know! I’m so sorry!’”

The experience had a big impact on Wilson

Wilson was greatly bothered by the incident that night and into the next day.

“I go to bed that night still thinking, ‘Well, gosh, that was kind of a gnarly experience,’” Wilson shared.

While he was still lamenting the experience the next morning, he got a call from Jagger’s security team.

“Then I get a call the next morning from Mick’s security team asking, ‘Do you have that laminate?’” Wilson recounted. “‘Yes, I still have it.’ ‘Okay, we’re going to come over and pick it up.’”

Breaking the dress code

It doesn’t end there. Wilson broke a prominent dress code, which made his security breach even more noticeable.

“I was also dressed in a white T-shirt and white pants,” Wilson cringed, “and if you are at this part of the stage — where you’re not supposed to be — you should be in like dark colors where you blend in.”

“So I get it, you know? He’s got a show to do. He doesn’t need some kind of bozo just cruising around distracting him.”

Wilson looked truly defeated over the loss of his all-access Stones pass. “I only had it for 24 hours,” he lamented.
