This weekend marked the first Easter of King Charles’ reign and the royal family were seen enjoying the sunny weather on the grounds of the castle before attending service at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.

It was also the King and Queen’s 18th wedding anniversary and the second anniversary of Prince Phillip’s death.

Who was in attendance?

King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla wore matching royal blue outfits as they greeted the crowd. They were followed by other members of the royal family.

Prince William and Princess Kate were in attendance alongside their children, George, Charlotte and Louis. This was Louis’ first Easter church outing with the royal family.

Prince Andrew was seen next to his sister, Princess Anne. As was Andrew’s daughter, Princess Beatrice, and her husband, Edo Mapelli Mozzi.

Anne’s daughter, Zara Tindell, made an appearance with her husband, Mike Tindell, as well as their two eldest children, Mia and Lena.

Next came Prince Edward and Sophie, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, with their eldest son, James, the Earl of Wessex. Their daughter, Lady Louise, was absent from the event.

Anne’s husband, Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, was walking with Lady Sarah Chatto and her husband, Daniel.

Finally, Princess Eugenie showed off her baby bump with her husband, Jack Brooksbank.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex

Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, were noticeably absent from the royal event. In fact, Meghan has never attended Easter with the royal family.

In 2018, the couple opted to skip the event as their wedding was just weeks away at the time. In 2019, Meghan missed the outing again as she was pregnant with their son Archie.

In 2020, the outing was canceled due to COVID-19 precautions, however, earlier that year, Harry and Meghan announced their departure as senior members of the royal family and moved to California. The event was canceled again in 2021.

Harry and Meghan spent their 2022 Easter at the Invictus Games in The Hague.
