Is Taylor Swift going to be in Toy Story 5?
The singer is heavily rumoured to be a part of the cast for the upcoming Pixar project.
It all started with some clouds. As is the way with the world’s biggest artist, she likes nothing more than dropping clues out of the blue for the fans to work out before a big reveal. The online version of Swift’s 1989 album swapped seagulls for fluffy clouds and instantly people scrambled to make sense of it all.
Fans then clocked a countdown on her website, and the colours had the decoders already suspecting a potential Toy Story involvement. Swift was soon spotted out and about in blue, red, and yellow, and then there was the horseshoe necklace. This was the final straw. There was no doubt.
And the fans were right: it was all about Toy Story. The 36-year-old has released three CDs - studio, acoustic, and piano versions - of a new song titled “I Knew It, I Knew You”, that will feature in the film. The song will debut on June 5 ahead of the release of the 5th instalment of the saga on June 19, seven years after Toy Story 4.

“You knew it! My new original song “I Knew It, I Knew You” for Disney and @Pixar’s @toystory 5 will be yours on June 5th,” Swift wrote on social media, “I’ve always dreamed of getting to write for these characters who I’ve adored since I was a 5-year-old kid watching the first ‘Toy Story’ movie,” she continued.
“I fell instantly in love with Toy Story 5 when I was lucky enough to see it in its early stages, and I wrote this song as soon as I got home from the screening. Sometimes you just know, right?”
Whether or not she will voice a character in the film is more of a dream than a reality at this stage for those who want to hear more of her, but at present there’s nothing to indicate that her participation will extend to anything further than the musical number.
