Jack Kesy cast in Hellboy reboot ‘The Crooked Man’
The first casting for the upcoming Hellboy reboot has been announced.
Millennium Media’s Hellboy reboot is starting to take shape. After being announced earlier this year, the upcoming movie has its first casting announcement. Actor Jack Kesy will play the lead role of Hellboy.
Kesy is best known for playing Black Tom in ‘Deadpool 2′ and for his other movies including ‘12 Strong,’ ‘Baywatch,’ and ‘Death Wish.’ Hellboy is just one of Kesy’s several upcoming projects.
According to IMDb, Kesy is set to star in upcoming movies ‘Way of the Warriors,’ ‘Murder at Hollow Creek,’ ‘Sheroes,’ and ‘Vronika.’
“Jack Kesy is a dynamic actor who has the ability to morph into his roles. His talent and stature are perfect for this younger Hellboy. I was very impressed with him while working together on The Outpost,” said co-President of Millennium Media, Jonathan Yunger.
Everything we know so far about the reboot
As previously announced, Brian Taylor will be directing the film with a script penned by Hellboy comic creators Mike Mignola and Christopher Golden. Taylor is known for his work as a writer and director for ‘Crank’ and the TV Series ‘Happy!’
He has also directed the 2011 Marvel movie ‘Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance,’ which starred Nicolas Cage and Idris Elba.
The Hellboy reboot is due to start shooting in the next couple of months and according to Deadline additional casting is in the works.
The premise of Hellboy: The Crooked Man
The plot so far has been described as following Hellboy, stranded in 1950s rural Appalachia with a rookie BPRD agent. They discover a small community haunted by witches and led by a local devil with a troubling connection to Hellboy’s past.
‘Hellboy: The Crooked Man’ is the reboot’s current working title. The movie will be a Millennium Media presentation in association with Dark Horse Entertainment. The Nu Boyana production is being produced in association with Campbell Grobman Film.
