Jamie Foxx and daughter Corinne Foxx have announced they will be hosting a new music game show, ‘We Are Family’, on Fox.

The announcement comes ahead of Fox’s upfront presentation to advertisers in New York, and as Jamie is believed to still be recovering from a recent “medical complication”.

“We are thrilled to be developing ‘We Are Family’ with Jeff Apploff and our friends at FOX Entertainment,” Jamie and Corinne said in a statement on Monday.

“We hope this show brings as much fun to audiences at home as we’ve had creating it when it premieres next year.”

What we know about ‘We Are Family’

Although the new show doesn’t have a firm premiere date, it is expected to debut sometime in 2024.

The show will feature celebrities’ non-famous relatives performing duets with their famous relative, who is hidden.

‘We Are Family’ will feature a studio audience made up of 100 contestants playing through multiple rounds of clues and gameplay as they try to win $100,000 each by correctly guessing which celebrity the performer is related to.

Celebrities on the show will range from musicians to professional athletes to actors and more.

“Jamie and Corinne are important partners to the Fox Family,” said Allison Wallach, president of unscripted programming for Fox Entertainment.

“Their boundless energy and charming interplay with contestants are irresistible, which make them the perfect hosts of ‘We Are Family.’ This series joins Fox’s fast-growing list of premium music-centric competition series.”

The series will be co-produced by Apploff Entertainment and Fox Alternative Entertainment, which created the program. Jeff Apploff and Jamie will serve as executive producers, while Matilda Zoltowski will be the show runner and execute producer.

Jamie and Corinne have worked together in the past

This isn’t the first time Jamie and Corinne have teamed up for a musical project. The duo work together hosting the music game show ‘Beat Shazam’.

However, Nick Cannon and Kelly Osbourne temporarily took over those duties earlier this month as Jamie continues to recover from his ongoing health problems.

The 55-year-old was hospitalized on April 11 for an unspecified “medical complication.”

“Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery,” Corinne shared at the time.

On May 12, Corinne revealed that her dad “has been out of the hospital for weeks, recuperating” via her Instagram stories.
