Why did Jesy Nelson leave Little Mix?

Nelson left the British girl group ‘Little Mix’ in 2020 revealing that nine years in the band had taken “a toll on her mental health.’ At the time, Nelson announced that she was taking an extended break from the group, but a month later confirmed that she had left the foursome for good.

At the time she explained, “The truth is, recently being in the band has really taken a toll on my mental health. I find the constant pressure of being in a girl group and living up to expectations very hard.”

She later told Cosmopolitan that anxiety over her weight and appearance brought her to a breaking point. She also explained later that she and her former band were “not talking anymore,” since the split.

As well, since Nelson’s departure former band members, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and Jade Thirlwell have also announced upcoming solo projects.
