John Krasinski, this year’s Sexiest Man Alive
John Krasinski has been named Sexist Man Alive for 2024 on Stephen Colbert’s late night show on CBS.
The wait is over. People Magazine has officially revealed the identity of the Sexiest Man Alive for 2024, with John Krasinski snagging the coveted prize. Though his origins on many of our screens began on the sitcom The Office, over the last decade, the actor has shown audiences different sides of his talents, both in front of and behind the camera.
Since the award was first dished out in 1985, John F. Kennedy Jr. (1988), Adam Levine (2013), David Beckham (2015) and John Legend (2019) are the only non-actors to have been recognized for their sexiness (depending on how you classify 2016 winner Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson).
This year’s winner was announced on CBS’ Late Night with Stephen Colbert, whose appearance has been acknowledged by people in the past, but the host has never been named Sexist Man Alive.
Sexiest Man Alive winners, 1985-2023
The Sexiest Man Alive contest is one of People Magazine’s most recognizable issues. Over the years, it has become a major moment in Hollywood culture.
Who were the favourites to be voted Sexiest Man Alive 2024?
As for this year, that trend is likely to continue, with Travis Kelce, Taylor Swift’s boyfriend (in case you didn’t know…), the only man given a chance of gatecrashing the acting love-in by most bookmakers.
Top Gun: Maverick star Glen Powell is fancied by many to scoop the award, with Jeremy Allen White (The Bear), Pedro Pascal (Narcos) and Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool, but you knew that already) also said to be in the reckoning.
Should Reynolds win, he will become the fourth man after Brad Pitt, George Clooney and Johnny Depp to win the prize outright twice, although Richard Gere won the only Sexiest Couple Alive award to date with then wife Cindy Crawford in 1993 before a solo victory six years later.
