Keanu Reeves’ lone condition for ‘John Wick 5′ return
Keanu Reeves hasn’t closed the door on reprising his role as ‘John Wick’ in another instalment.
With ‘John Wick: Chapter 4′ having only recently hit theaters, much has been made about Keanu Reeves’ future with the franchise.
The installment was expected by many to be the final chapter, but talk of a fifth film has reignited following the strong box office numbers.
Having earned a franchise-best $73.5 million during its domestic premiere weekend, the film now sits at over $150 million at the global box office after a week.
As a result, Lionsgate Motion Picture Group chair Joe Drake says that a ‘John Wick 5′ is no longer out of the realm of possibility.
“There’s a will and there’s an openness. And you could certainly interpret that ending in different ways,” said Drake. “We’re all going to take a tiny rest here and then scratch at ideas about whether there’s a credible way to get into five. But there’s no guarantee.”

The question is: would Keanu Reeves return for ‘John Wick 5′?
The end of ‘John Wick: Chapter 4′ seemingly brings an end to Wick’s journey. After killing the Marquis de Gramont and gaining freedom from the High Table, Wick dies due to the injuries he sustained.
Winston and the Bowery King later bury him next to his wife.
Although his character passes away, Reeves stated that he would be willing to return for ‘John Wick 5′ if director Chad Stahelski returns, though he hopes ‘Chapter 4′ provides a satisfying ending for his character.
“I don’t know, I guess I’m going to have to lean on never say never. I mean, I wouldn’t do a John Wick film without Chad Stahelski,” Reeves told Entertainment Weekly.
“We’d have to see what that looked like. For me, it feels really right that John Wick finds peace.”
Reeves on Wick meeting his demise
Reeves also shed light on why he and Stahelski decided it was time for Wick to meet the end of his journey.
“The first conversation we had was, ‘Why? Why make it?’” said Reeves. “And the note behind that note is, what’s the story? And for he and I, it felt like, what was authentic and true was John Wick’s journey to death.
“That was the first idea; that was the why of why we made the movie. That, for us, was the organic, authentic story to tell for the character of John Wick and the John Wick world.
“So that was the first idea, that was the first like, that’s what we’re going to do. Okay, now let’s invent a story of how that happens.”
