Keanu Reeves’ response to marriage proposal at ‘John Wick: Chapter 4’ premiere

The ‘John Wick’ actor received more than critical acclaim for his film at the SXSW Film Festival.

Update:
The ‘John Wick’ actor received more than critical acclaim for his film at the SXSW Film Festival.

Keanu Reeves may just be America’s heartthrob, as the ‘John Wick’ actor received a marriage proposal at the premier of ‘John Wick: Chapter 4′ — a proposal he had a quick response for.

It all went down at the SXSW Film Festival at the Paramount Theater in Austin, Texas. The festival, which runs from March 10 to 18, premiers more than 30 feature films and 80 short films, with Reeves in attendance to promote his upcoming film.

‘John Wick: Chapter 4′ will be released in theaters on March 24.

The marriage proposal

Following the screening of ‘John Wick: Chapter 4′ at the Paramount Theater, Reeves took the stage to answer questions from the audience with the film’s director, Chad Stahelski.

The enthusiastic audience included many Reeves fans, as the actor received a litany of questions, which he answered easily, bantering with the crowd.

Somebody asked Reeves if he kept any props from the first ‘John Wick’ films to have as souvenirs from his time playing the high-action title character, to which Reeves said he kept John Wick’s watch and wedding ring.

One ambitious woman yelled loudly, “I’ll marry you!”. Without missing a beat, Reeves flashed an ironic, humorous smile.

Yeah, be careful what you wish for,” he deadpanned.

John Wick spin-off series?

Another fan asked Reeves if the ‘Matrix’ actor would appear in any of the upcoming ‘John Wick’ spin-off productions, such as the Peacock series, ‘The Continental’, starring Mel Gibson, or ‘Ballerina’, a movie that will star ‘Blonde’ actress Ana de Armas.

The crowd got a yes-and-no answer. First, Stahelski responded that the matter was still up in the air.

“Uh, not sure yet,” he said.

“No,” Reeves said.

The actor then corrected himself, and seemed to recall that he will actually appear in Ana de Armas’ film.

I have a cameo in ‘Ballerina’,” Reeves pivoted. “That’s true.”

The most physically challenging role Reeves has ever faced

‘John Wick: Chapter 4′, which hits theaters on March 24, is the most physically challenging role Reeves has ever contended with.

The stunt-studded display of physical exertion, as well as fast-paced car chases through the busy metropolis of Paris, France, pushed the actor to perform at his best.

In an interview with Total Film magazine, Reeves talked about the intensive training he did in preparation for the fourth edition of the franchise.

“John Wick: Chapter 4′ was the hardest physical role I’ve ever had in my career so far,” the Canadian-born actor declared. “They really trained me up to be able to have what we call the toolbox.”

“We took the car-driving to the next level, which I really enjoy. It was really fun to get a chance to learn those skills, and to play.”
