Keanu Reeves’ latest John Wick role his most challenging yet

The Canadian actor returns to the big screen for ‘John Wick: Chapter 4′ and he described it as his most physically exerting role so far.

Update:
The Canadian actor returns to the big screen for ‘John Wick: Chapter 4’ and he described it as his most physically exerting role so far.

‘John Wick: Chapter 4′’ is set to hit theaters this spring, and Keanu Reeves says the physical challenge he faced while filming was the steepest yet.

The film, to be released in theaters March 24, will be a stunt-studded display of physical exertion and fast-paced car chases through the streets of Paris.

The Canadian-born actor revealed that between stunt driving in the busy streets, training for the fight scenes, and executing many of his own stunts, ‘John Wick: Chapter 4′ was the film that really pushed him to be his best.

In an interview with Total Film magazine, Reeves said that the film required intensive training, and that he had to develop skills in some areas to optimize his performance as John Wick.

“‘John Wick: Chapter 4′ was the hardest physical role I’ve ever had in my career so far,” Reeves said. “They really trained me up to be able to have what we call the toolbox.”

Commenting on his newly honed stunt-driving skills, the 58-year-old action-thriller star said that though the driving the scenes set in Paris were challenging, they were also fun and exciting.

“We took the car-driving to the next level, which I really enjoy,” Reeves recounted. “It was really fun to get a chance to learn those skills, and to play.”

The official trailer released by Lionsgate last November shows Reeves’ iconic character seeking revenge for what happened three years earlier in 2019′s ‘John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum’, a film that raked in $327,281,779 at the global box office.

Keanu Reeves thanks his stuntmen

Reeves gave an honorable mention to the stuntmen that helped make it all happen.

At a dinner in Paris, ‘The Matrix’ star acknowledged the four-man crew, consisting of Jeremy Marinas, Bruce Concepcion, Dave Camarillo and Li Qiang. He thanked them for their hard work by gifting each of them with a personalized Rolex Submariner watch.

Fans of ‘John Wick’ caught a glimpse of the Rolex watches and inscriptions on Marinas’ and Concepcion’s Instagram stories.

Marinas posted a photo of the watch with the heading, “Best wrap gift ever”. The photo shows the engraved message: “The John Wick Five”, and “Jeremy Thank you Keanu JW4 2021″.

Concepcion publicly thanked Reeves for the gift by posting a photo.

“Got that new new”, he wrote. “Thank you bro KR.”
