Pink joined ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show’ on Friday for a heartfelt discussion about the star’s life in the music industry, where the pair also sang an acoustic rendition of Pink’s 2017 song, ‘What About Us’.

Pink’s appearance on the show was to promote the upcoming release of her new album, ‘Trustfall’, which will be available to fans on February 17.

The two singing sensations performed their version of ‘What About Us’, which is from Pink’s ‘Beautiful Trauma’ album to the strum of an acoustic guitar.

“I love those long, steady notes,” Pink says with a smile after crooning the first few lines of the song. “They’re great.

‘What About Us’

In the video, Clarkson acknowledged that the song ‘What About Us’ has lyrics that have a deep social meaning, and asked Pink what inspired that angle.

We’re not listening to each other right now,” Pink remarked. “And it’s so loud, and gross, and angry.”

And people are being forgotten,” the singer continued. “People are being counted out and their rights are being trampled on just because a group of people doesn’t believe in them.”

After a pause, Pink concluded, “I don’t understand how so many people in this world are discounted because one group of people decided they don’t like that, and I won’t have it.”

How Pink developed her voice

During the interview, Pink opened up about how she first came to develop her voice in speaking and writing about things that matter.

“One of the most beautiful things that my dad taught me was that my voice matters and I can make a difference, and I will,” the singer said.

“One person can change a lot,” Pink added. “I think if we all had a chance to experience each other more, it would be a lot different.”
