At the midway point of June 2026, two groups of Social Security recipients are still waiting for this month’s benefits, according to the Social Security Administration’s (SSA) payment schedule.

Three-Wednesdays Social Security cycle: June status update
Of the 71.1 million Social Security recipients in the U.S., many are to be paid on the second, third or fourth Wednesday in June, depending on their date of birth.
This three-Wednesdays cycle kicked off last week, with two more payment dates to come:
- Born on 1st-10th of any month: Wednesday, June 10
- Born on 11th-20th of any month: Wednesday, June 17
- Born on 21st-31st of any month: Wednesday, June 24
NB: If you claim Social Security benefits based on someone else’s employment history, the SSA uses the other person’s birthday.
What other payment runs are on the SSA’s June schedule?
- June 1: SSI benefits
On Monday, June 1, the SSA was scheduled to send out the latest batch of SSI payments to the 7.3 million Americans who benefit from the scheme.
A program for certain low-income, low-resource individuals, SSI is operated by the SSA, but differs from Social Security benefits as it is needs-based. Eligibility for SSI does not depend on a claimant’s work record.
- June 3: Some long-term Social Security beneficiaries
On Wednesday, June 3, the SSA was to make this month’s Social Security payments to beneficiaries who began claiming before May 1997.
- June 3: Social Security recipients who also claim SSI
June 3 was also the Social Security distribution date for recipients who combine the program with SSI.
How much are monthly Social Security and SSI benefits?
- Social Security retirement pay: $2,026.41
- Social Security disability pay: $1,493.20
- Social Security survivor pay: $1,625.56
- SSI benefits: $738.22

- Payments can be transferred into a recipient’s bank account by direct deposit
- Money can be loaded onto the Direct Express Card, a special debit card for federal disbursements
