Kelly Ripa navigates multiple wardrobe malfunctions on ‘Live’
The host was put to the test following a series of mishaps during Tuesday’s show.
Kelly Ripa suffered multiple wardrobe malfunctions during the second-ever ‘Live with Kelly and Mark’ on Tuesday.
Ripa and her husband, Mark Consuelos, were following dance instructions from ‘Dancing with the Stars’ dancers Val Chmerkovskiy and Jenna Johnson Chmerkovskiy when the mishap occurred.
As Consuelos and Ripa tried out one of the moves, her pink dress ripped in the back.
“Did the entire back of my dress rip?” Ripa immediately exclaimed, to which Consuelos assured her it was just a small tear.
“It’s just a breakaway dress!” she later joked about the incident.

The dress-ripping incident was unfortunately not the end of the wardrobe malfunctions for Ripa. During a commercial break later on, Ripa kept practicing her dance moves and lost one of her shoes.
“Well so far I’ve torn my dress, I lost a shoe,” Ripa joked on television.
“That’s what dance is all about….take it off!” replied guest Jenna Johnson Chmerkovskiy, encouraging the actress to let loose. The rest of the choreography luckily went off without another hitch.
‘Live with Kelly and Mark’ receives mixed reviews
Though only two episodes in, the married couple’s new television partnership isn’t receiving the response they’d hoped for. ‘Live with Kelly and Mark’ was formerly ‘Live with Kelly and Ryan’ with Ripa co-hosting alongside Ryan Seacrest.
The show had to pivot after Seacrest announced back in February that he would be leaving the show as of April 14. Consuelos was invited to co-host alongside his wife - but surprisingly, audience members are not feeling their chemistry.
“Kelly and Mark look uncomfortable together, it’s hard to watch,” wrote one fan.
Other viewers commented on Ripa’s tendency to interrupt her husband, hinting that a few changes need to be made for the show to be successful.
Still, many fans loved them together and cannot wait to keep watching ‘Live with Kelly and Mark’.
