Oasis reunion rumours grow with cryptic social media post

In 1991 Oasis exploded on the music scene in England and went onto become a generation defining musical phenomenon.

Fronted by brothers, Liam and Noel Gallagher the group, the band went on to sell more than 75 million records worldwide, making them one of the best-selling groups of all time.

They are also one of the most successful acts in the history of the UK Singles Chart and the UK Albums Chart, with eight UK number-one singles and eight UK number-one albums.

It all ended in 2009 when the band abruptly called it a day and despite years of speculation that a reunion was on the cards, both Gallagher brothers have dismissed the idea, until now as The Sunday Times claim that a Oasis reunion could be on the cards and this claim has not been denied by Liam himself.

London and Manchester shows

The British outlet claims that, according to “industry experts”, the brothers “appear to have settled their differences and, if the truce holds, will play massive concerts in London and Manchester’s Heaton Park in 2025.” The rumours suggest that Wembley Stadium has been reserved for ten nights and if this materialises, it would smash Taylor Swift’s recent eight night’s record at the north London stadium.

Liam continues to tease the possibility of a reunion with cryptic posts on Twitter (X) with his latest being: “I never did like that word FORMER”.

When engaging with his followers about the possibility of a reunion the younger of the brothers responded with: “Honestly, I haven’t heard a peep”, this came after he earlier replied to another follower about proposed shows, stating: “See you down the front”.

Oasis are celebrating the 30th anniversary of their 1994 debut album, Definitely Maybe, with a special LP and CD reissue featuring outtakes from their recording sessions and an unheard demo track.

A series of original recordings from the band’s sessions at Monnow Valley Studios also feature, which were eventually scrapped. The record also comes with an unreleased alternative demo version of Sad Song, which was first released as a bonus track, featuring Liam Gallagher’s vocals.

Later on Sunday night, both brother’s teased a possible reunion announcement with a subtle social media post bearing Monday’s date and the time of: 8am on 27.08.2024 generating a wave of excitement that an announcement confirming the Oasis reunion is imminent.
