Lisa Marie Presley’s celebration of life took place at Graceland on Sunday as friends, family members, and countless Presley family fans gathered to honor her. The memorial was held on the front lawn of Graceland in Memphis, Tennessee, which was once the home of her father Elvis Presley.

The memorial began with a performance of ‘Amazing Grace’ sung by Jason Clark and the Tennessee Mass Choir. Producer Joel Weinshanker gave the opening remarks, stating that Lisa Marie left instructions on her wishes for her future memorial, specifically stating “don’t make it sad.” She was 54 when she died on January 12, 2023, after being hospitalized for a medical emergency.

Lisa Marie Presley’s mother, Priscilla Presley gave her remembrance along with a poem written by one of Lisa Marie’s twin daughters. Part of the poem reads: “The old soul. I have no idea how to put my mother into words. Truth is there are too many. Lisa Marie Presley was an Icon, a role model, a superhero to many people all over the world. But mama was my icon, my role model, my superhero. In much more ways than one. Even now I can’t get across everything there is to be understood or known about her. But as she always said, I’ll do my best…”

Lisa Marie’s oldest daughter Riley Keough was listed as a speaker, but a letter she wrote was read by her husband Ben Smith-Petersen instead. Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, and Jerry Schilling, Lisa Marie’s former manager also gave their remembrances during the ceremony. The service featured several somber tribute performances. Singer Alanis Morissette, Axl Rose of the rock band ‘Guns N’ Roses’, and Billy Corgan of ‘The Smashing Pumpkins’ all performed during the memorial.

The entire service was live-streamed online. Elvis Presley’s song ‘He Touched Me’ played while the memorial live stream waited to begin, followed by a duet of Lisa and her father singing ‘Where No One Stands Alone.’

The Memorial concluded with a message stating donations in Lisa’s memory could be made to the Elvis Presley Charitable Foundation. A foundation that assists with the Elvis Presley Endowed Scholarship Fund, along with numerous other charities focusing on arts, education, and children’s programs.

After the service concluded there was a procession to Lisa’s final resting place in the Meditation Garden, an area in Graceland’s backyard where several other Presley family members are buried. Lisa was buried across from her father and next to her son, Benjamin Keough, who died in 2020.
