‘M3GAN’ sequel confirmed for 2025 with Allison Williams and Violet McGraw reprising their roles
The successful 2023 horror movie has been given the green light by Universal.
Get ready for more dancing and jump scares because ‘M3GAN’ will be returning for a second movie.
On January 18, Universal revealed to horror-fans around the world that the hit movie by Atomic Monster and Blumhouse would be receiving a sequel titled ‘M3GAN 2.0′ which will be released to theaters on January 17, 2025.
‘M3GAN’ danced her way into theaters on January 6, and has since made over $104 million worldwide at the box office, currently making it the highest-grossing film of 2023. So it’s no surprise that the viral AI-like doll will be back for part two in hopes of finding a new best friend.
In a recent interview with Variety, the film’s producers Jason Blum and James Wan revealed they have been talking about a sequel since they saw the film.
“After I first saw the movie, we had a good sense that a sequel might really work,” Blum said. “So, we broke our cardinal rule and we started talking about a sequel before the movie was released. I felt so bullish that we started entertaining a sequel earlier than we usually do.”
What is the plot of ‘M3GAN 2.0′?
Although the film has been announced, been given a title, a release date and a Screenwriter (Akela Cooper), a director and plot for the thriller has yet to be released.
What is ‘M3GAN’ about?
‘M3GAN’ is about an AI (artificial intelligence) lifelike doll that’s programmed to be a child’s best friend and a parent’s biggest helper all at the same time. Designed by Gemma (Allison Williams), a brilliant roboticist, M3GAN can listen, watch and learn as it plays the role of friend and teacher, playmate and protector.
When Gemma becomes the unexpected caretaker of her 8-year-old niece, Cady (Violet McGraw), she decides to give the girl an M3GAN prototype, a decision that leads to unimaginable consequences but also amazing dance sequences.

As of now McGraw and Williams are the only cast members who have been confirmed for the sequel. But the hit film also includes names such as Amie Donald, Jenna Davis, Brian Jordan Alvarez, Jen Brown, Ronny Chieng, Arlo Green, Kira Josephson, Stephane Garneau, Lori Dungey and more.
