Mark Wahlberg sells mansion after big price cut
Mark Wahlberg’s Los Angeles mansion was initially listed for $87.5 million.
After almost a year on the market, Mark Wahlberg has finally sold his North Beverly Park mansion, which is located in a gated community in Los Angeles.
The property was first listed in April 2022 for $87.5 million, with the 30,500 square-foot home becoming the seventh-largest property on the market in L.A. County.
How much did Wahlberg get for the mansion?
Wahlberg bought the property for $8.25 million back in 2009, and work on it was completed in 2014.
The home features 12 bedrooms and 20 baths, and is located on 6.2 acres in North Beverly Park.
Although Wahlberg was initially looking for $87.5 million to sell the mansion, and later reduced to $79.5 million in December, it’s been sold for $55 million.
The sale comes after Wahlberg announced in October that he had left California with his wife, Rhea Durham, and their four children - Ella, Michael, Brendan and Grace - for Nevada during an episode of ‘The Talk’.
“I want to be able to work from home,” said Wahlberg. “I moved to California many years ago to pursue acting, and I’ve only made a couple of movies in the entire time that I was there.
“So, to be able to give my kids a better life and follow and pursue their dreams, whether it be my daughter as an equestrian, my son as a basketball player, my younger son as a golfer, this made a lot more sense for us.”
What the mansion has to offer
Designed by architect Richard Landry, who also built Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen’s mansion in Brentwood, the home features a two-story lobby, along with formal living and dining rooms.
The primary suite also features a fireplace, private balcony, dual baths and a closet, while the main level features a wood-paneled library. It also features a home theater, professional gym, wine cellar and cigar cellar.
As for the kitchen, it comes with two islands as well as a separate prep kitchen.
Last but not least, the property comes with a five-hole golf course, driving range, as well as a grotto pool, skate park and a guest house.
