Meghan Trainor regrets giving this one song away
The 29-year-old singer/songwriter opened up about her music catalog and which song she wishes she kept.
Meghan Trainor has written hits for herself such as ‘All About That Bass’, ‘Me Too’, ‘No’, and most recently ‘Made You Look’, but the singer has also written a number of songs for other big artists.
The Grammy award winner opened up about her music history and explained that she’s written songs for artists such as Jennifer Lopez, Lauren Alaina, Rascal Flatts and more.
In an interview with PopCrush Nights, Trainor said that songwriting has always been easy and it’s often a “happy place” for her.
When asked if there is a song of hers that she wishes she kept for herself, Trainor was quick to reply with the lyrics “If you could take my pulse right now” before naming the track.
“‘Sledgehammer’ by Fifth Harmony is such a great one,” Trainor said.
Since making onto the girl groups debut album ‘Reflection’ in 2015, Trainor’s demo of the song has surfaced and fans have been loving it.
Why is ‘Sledgehammer’ so meaningful to Trainor?
Along with saying the song is “such a bop” Trainor also revealed that she believes the song was something that “really impressed” her now husband Daryl Sabara, due to his love of Fifth Harmony.
This confession from Sabara ultimately made Trainor realize the pair were “soulmates.”
A history of Trainor and Sabara
Trainor and Sabara first met in 2014 after briefly encountering each other at a party, but the pair didn’t start dating until 2016 when actress Chloë Grace Moretz formally introduced them.
“I asked every person I met since day one, ‘Find me a boyfriend!’ Like, especially new friends too,” Trainor told Chelsea Handler. “Chloë Grace Moretz is a friend of mine, and day one of meeting her, I was like, ‘You know anybody that I could date? Or love? Whatever.’”
A few years later, Trainor and the ‘Spy Kids’ actor got engaged and also tied the knot during a private ceremony in 2019.
On February 8, 2021, the couple welcomed their first child Riley into the world.
“This sweet baby boy’s due date was today on Valentine’s Day. We got to meet him Monday, Feb 8th! We are SO IN LOVE. Thank you @darylsabara for the best Valentine’s gift ever! Welcome to the world Riley!” Trainor wrote via Instagram.
Now in 2023, the couple has announced they’re expanding their family with baby number two on its way.
“BABY #2 COMING THIS SUMMER @darylsabara” Trainor wrote on Instagram.
