‘Mercy’ starring Chris Pratt and Rebecca Ferguson bombed at the box office: Here’s where you can stream the movie

After a modest theatrical run, Timur Bekmambetov’s latest film is hoping for a second chance.

History keeps repeating itself. The streaming era has brought with it a very curious trend: plenty of movies flop at the box office, only to find a second life months or even years later once they land on a streaming platform. And here’s a very recent example. Mercy premiered in theaters just a couple of months ago and failed to make much of an impact, but it has now arrived in the Amazon Prime Video catalog.

Mercy is a sci-fi action thriller directed by Timur Bekmambetov (Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter) and starring Chris Pratt and Rebecca Ferguson. Set in the near future, the story takes place in a world where courtrooms are run by artificial intelligence. It follows a detective (Chris Pratt) who is accused of murdering his wife and must prove his innocence before a relentless AI system.

Mercy received mixed reviews during its theatrical release. On FilmAffinity, it earned a 5.8 out of 10. It performed slightly better on IMDb, where it holds a 6.2 out of 10. Its harshest reception came from Rotten Tomatoes, where it received a 25% approval rating. Will it manage to succeed on streaming?
