Mike Tyson has said that Jamie Foxx was hospitalized due to a stroke.

The actor was filming his latest film, ‘Back in Action’, April 11 in Atlanta with Cameron Diaz when he was rushed to the hospital, without any information released about why he needed the emergency medical treatment. Foxx’s daughter, Corinne Foxx, simply said he suffered a “medical complication”.

After several weeks of treatment in Atlanta, Foxx was transferred to a Chicago medical facility specializing in serious conditions, including stroke, at the end of April. The family still remained silent, though just days before Corinne said he had been out of the hospital for a long time and was even up and playing games with the family.

Tyson has now spoken out about Foxx’s condition, as he commented during a podcast that “they said [it was] a stroke.” The actor is set to play the role of the infamous boxer in a biopic that is still in development.

Mike Tyson joins the PBD podcast

While joining the PBD Valuetainment podcast for a long form discussion, Tyson was asked about his friend.

“He’s not feeling well. They said a stroke,” the former boxer said. “I have no idea what happened to him.”

“Hey, listen, we can’t anticipate our next breath,” Tyson continued. “We don’t know when we are gonna die. … After we leave, this bad stuff can happen.”

“Has there ever been any actual news on what this medical condition is?,” one of the podcasters asked. “I mean, Jamie Foxx is a young, vibrant, healthy guy. And all of a sudden - boom.”

“Hey, listen. If we don’t know by now, they don’t want us to know,” Tyson replied. “You know what’s up, come on man. Stop.”

I gotta wake up,” the podcaster said.

The Mike Tyson biopic

Tyson was also asked his thoughts on whether or not Foxx will still portray him in the biopic.

“I don’t know what’s going to happen now,” Tyson responded. “But, you know, it’s a strong possibility.”

The heavyweight also revealed how they would have 55-year-old Foxx play a young Tyson.

“Jamie’s closer to my age, so in order to do him, they were going to do what they did with ‘Benjamin Button.’ They were going to make him look younger.”
