Nick Cannon gives updates on Jamie Foxx in wake of two-week hospital stint
The actor’s friend says Foxx is awake and alert since his medical emergency.
Nick Cannon, a close friend of actor Jamie Foxx, who was rushed to the hospital for an unspecified medical earlier in April, has given fans an update that Foxx is now awake and alert.
Foxx’s daughter, Corinne Foxx, posted on social media the day after Foxx’s hospitalization to let fans know her father was on the road to recovery.

The 42-year-old television host told Entertainment Tonight that Foxx is “alert” and confirmed that his friend was hospitalized due to a medical complication, but did not specify what the complication is.
“He’s awake,” Cannon said. “They say he’s alert, so we love it. That’s family right there.”
Praying for your friends
Nick Cannon expressed his concern for his friend and said that he was praying for Foxx all the time.
“Man, I’m praying,” Cannon said. “I literally have been saying prayers out loud. Words of affirmation for my big brother. I know he’s doing so much better because I’m actually about to do something special for him and doing him a favor. I can’t really say what it is, but it’ll be out there soon.”

Corinne Foxx posted on behalf of the Foxx family to Instagram the day after Jamie Foxx was rushed to the hospital to let her father’s audience know that he was doing okay and was recovering.
“Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery,” the Foxx family statement read. “We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time.”
