Jamie Foxx is making some positive progress after his medical accident last week. According to a close friend, Foxx is doing better but doctors are continuing to monitor his condition.

Foxx has been hospitalized in Georgia since April 11 after he experienced a “medical complication” according to his daughter Corrine Foxx, who shared in a social media post the following day.

She did not go into details about her father’s specific complication but added that her father was thankfully “on his way to recovery.” Another friend of the actor has also shared updates on Foxx recently.

Foxx is ‘doing better’

While receiving his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Martin Lawrence told Extra that Foxx was “doing better.”

“Well, I hear he’s doing better… My prayers go out for him every night and just wishing the best for him, one of the best that we got in Hollywood. Not only one of the best entertainers, but a good person,” Lawrence said.

An insider for PEOPLE also provided an update on the actor, “He’s OK, thank God,”

The source continued, “He’s still in the hospital and doctors are running tests but he’s awake and alert. They’re keeping him under observation.”

Earlier reports claim that Foxx had been taken to a hospital in Georgia amid filming for his movie ‘Back in Action.’ His medical emergency reportedly did not take place on set.

Production for ‘Back in Action’ resumed soon after Foxx’s hospitalization. Foxx, who stares alongside Cameron Diaz and Glenn Close, was last seen filming on April 10.

Due to Foxx’s hospitalization, a stunt double has filled in for his absence and a second individual has served as his photo double.

Outpour of support

Since Foxx’s incident, there has been an outpour of support and prayers from his friends and family. Former Costar Kerry Washington dedicated an Instagram post to the actor last week.

The actress shared a throwback photo of the two together with the caption, “A @iamjamiefoxx appreciation post. Sending you all the love and prayers my movie huzbin.”

Steve Harvey, Tracy Morgan, and Martin Lawrence also previously shared their support and shock regarding Foxx’s medicalization.
