Paris Hilton welcomes first child with husband Carter Reum

The businesswoman and media personality surprised fans by announcing her first child via Instagram on Tuesday.

Paris Hilton is a mom after revealing that her and husband Carter Reum have welcomed a baby boy via surrogate.

The socialite made the announcement via her Instagram account, posting a picture of her clutching the hand of the newborn.

“You are already loved beyond words,” wrote Hilton accompanied by a blue heart emoji.

Hilton ready for motherhood

Speaking with People on Tuesday, Hilton revealed that it has always been her dream to be a mother, and that she is looking forward to the experience with her husband.

“It’s always been my dream to be a mother and I’m so happy that Carter and I found each other,” said Hilton. “We are so excited to start our family together and our hearts are exploding with love for our baby boy.”

Hilton did not reveal when the child was born or what his name is. While the newborn is the 41-year-old’s first child, Reum shares a daughter from a past relationship with reality star Laura Bellizzi.

Hilton had previously spoken about starting a family

Back in December, Hilton opened up about how she and Reum were keen to have a baby and that the couple had already started the in-vitro fertilization (IVF) process during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We started going and doing it like a few months in because the world was shut down,” Hilton told People. “We knew we wanted to start a family, and I was like, ‘This is perfect timing. Usually, I’m on a plane 250 days out of the year, and let’s just get all of the eggs stocked and ready,’ and we have tons of them just waiting.”

Hilton previously stated the couple had always planned to start a family in 2023. Her comments came after her mom Kathy Hilton told E! News that the couple were struggling to conceive, which the heiress later clarified.

“I’m getting tons of messages of people asking me when I’m having a baby,” Hilton wrote on Instagram back in November.

“My husband and I always wanted to enjoy our first year of marriage together as a couple and we we’re (sic) always planning on starting our family in 2023.

“IVF is always a journey and we’re so fortunate that we have lots of healthy embryos ready and waiting to be part of our Cutesy Crew! As everyone knows I have an extremely busy work and travel schedule but nothing gets me more excited then (sic) becoming a mom in 2023. Thank you for all your kind messages. Love always P.”
