Patrick Mahomes asks for privacy amid brother Jackson’s legal woes

Patrick Mahomes has address his brother Jackson’s alleged sexual assault.

The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback spoke during a Wednesday press conference. However, it doesn’t appear he is keen to discuss the top, stating he’d rather not speak about it publicly.

“Honestly, it’s kind of a personal thing that I’m just kind of going to keep to myself,” Patrick said.

“I mean, at the end of the day, I come here to play football and try to take care of my family at the same time. So I just kinda keep it to myself and just go out there and play football when I’m in the building.”

When asked how he decides when a situation should be kept private, Patrick added: “I think that’s a process everyone has to navigate in life. Obviously, I’m on a bigger stage, but at the same time, it’s your family. But you have to come in here and do a job, and that’s what I try to do every day.”

Jackson’s arrest

Jackson Mahomes was arrested and charged with three counts of aggravated sexual battery and one of misdemeanour battery back on May 3.

The charges reportedly stem from an alleged incident at a local Kansas City restaurant in late February as per KCTV-5.

The owner of the establishment, Aspen Vaughn, alleges that Jackson “forcibly kiss[ed] me out of nowhere” while being interviewed earlier this year.

He was later released on $100,000 bond according to court records, and denied the accusations through is lawyer, Brandon Davies, in March.

“We have provided law enforcement with the tools and evidence they need to evaluate the claims against Jackson,” Davies said in a statement to KCTV-5.

“Every interaction between people needs to be placed in the proper context. Releasing a short clip of any video does not provide proper context. We have faith in the process and look forward to a swift resolution of the matter.”
