Just one day after her passing, Tina Turner’s cause of death has been revealed.

A rep told the Daily Mail that Turner, who passed away at the age of 83 on Wednesday, died of natural causes.

The singer died at her mansion in Küsnach near Zurich, Switzerland, with her rep stating she had been battling a “long illness” while not disclosing further details.

“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Tina Turner,” the spokesperson wrote in a statement on Instagram.

“With her music and her boundless passion for life, she enchanted millions of fans around the world and inspired the stars of tomorrow.

“Today we say goodbye to a dear friend who leaves us all her greatest work: her music. All our heartfelt compassion goes out to her family. Tina, we will miss you dearly.”

Turner spoke about her health issues

While here death came as a shock to many, Turner has spoken about her health issues in the past.

Just two months ago she admitted that her battle with kidney disease left her in “great danger.”

“My kidneys are victims of my not realising [sic] that my high blood pressure should have been treated with conventional medicine,” she wrote on Instagram in March.

“I have put myself in great danger by refusing to face the reality that I need daily, lifelong therapy with medication. For far too long I believed that my body was an untouchable and indestructible bastion.”

She also revealed in a feature-length documentary, ‘Tina’, that she had been diagnosed with a form of post-traumatic stress disorder due to the domestic abuse she suffered during her marriage with her first husband and music partner, Ike Turner.

“I had an abusive life, there’s no other way to tell the story. It’s a reality. It’s a truth. That’s what you’ve got, so you have to accept it,” she said two years ago.

She also talked her stroke back in 2013, as well as her battle with intestinal cancer in 2016 and kidney failure in 2017.
