Paul Walker’s brother names newborn son after late actor

Cody Walker revealed it was important to keep the name Paul going in the family, as it goes back four generations.

Paul Walker’s brother, Cody Walker, has paid tribute to the late actor by naming his newborn son after him.

Cody shared the news with People, stating that he and his wife Felicia Knox felt it was the right thing to do after the ‘Fast & Furious’ star passed away in 2013.

“Paul Barrett (”Bear”) Walker was born 7 lbs., 4 oz. on Sunday, April 30, in Arizona,” wrote the outlet, with Paul revealing they decided on the name 24 hours after the baby was born.

“This November will mark 10 years since we lost my brother, Paul, and I just felt now was the appropriate time,” said Cody.

Paul is the couple’s third child. They also have a five-year-old daughter and a 2 1/2 year-old-son.

Cody also added that it was important to keep the name Paul going in the Walker family.

“My brother, Caleb, and I are both done having children,” he said. “My brother, Paul, was Paul William Walker IV and that name goes back four generations.

“Within the family, he went by ‘little Paul’ or ‘Paul 4,’ even though he quickly outgrew our father in height. It was important to me to have that name carry on.”

Paul Walker’s career

Paul was best known for playing Brian O’Conner in the ‘Fast and Furious’ franchise. He passed away in a car crash at the age of 40 in 2013.

When he died, filming for ‘Furious 7′ had not been completed. It was eventually released after rewrites and stand-ins, with Cody and Caleb helping out with that.

Body is also keeping his brother’s memory going thanks to his involvement in FuelFest, which begins on June 3 at Irwindale Speedway in California.

The motorsport festival celebrates car culture, and also raises money for Reach Out Worldwide. The nonprofit charity was established by Paul in January 2010 in the aftermath of a massive earthquake in Haiti.

Paul’s daughter, Meadow, also continues her father’s legacy by working with the Paul Walker Foundation.

“They always say the first thing you forget about someone is their voice, so I’m fortunate enough to have his voice in many movies,” she told Page Six last year.

“I like to watch [his movies] at night. For me, it brings me joy to talk about him and keep his spirit alive.”
