Actor and comedian Pete Davidson expressed to the Real Ones podcast that he feels like a “loser” due to the media’s emphasis on his dating life.

Davidson has previously been in relationships with celebrities like Ariana Grande, Kim Kardashian, Phoebe Dynevor and Emily Ratajkowski among others. As such, much of the talk surrounding Davidson has been about his love life, rather than his career.

“I’m in my 20′s and I’ve dated people,” he said. “And for some reason, that’s very crazy and interesting to people.

“I don’t think it’s interesting. I’ve been in show business for, like, half my life almost – for 14 or 15 years and on a national TV show.

“In 12 years I’ve dated 10 people. I don’t think that’s that crazy, but to some people, that’s very interesting. That became all anyone would talk about.”

A love life overshadowing a career

“I’m not, like, flexing, you know what I mean?” he added. “And these people that I’ve dated, I met them at work.

“I wasn’t in anyone’s DMs, no one was in mine. I worked at one of the five Hollywood epicenters of where you meet people and that’s how it happened.”

Davidson expressed his desire to be known for his work, rather than who he’s dating.

“Suddenly you’re in this zeitgeist and that has nothing to do with the work,” he said. “And that’s a really s—y feeling. I became more known before the work was there, but I was always working.”

Davidson’s career

Davidson’s career began in the early 2010′s starring in minor roles in ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’, ‘Guy Code’, ‘Friends of the People’ and ‘Wild n’ Out’.

The 29-year-old is probably best known for being a cast member on Saturday Night Live for eight seasons. He joined the show in 2014 and left in 2022.

Additionally, he’s portrayed roles in films such as ‘The Suicide Squad’, ‘Marmaduke’, ‘Bodies Bodies Bodies’ and ‘Meet Cute’.

Also a writer, Davidson co-wrote and starred in ‘The King of Staten Island’ which is a semi-autobiographical comedy-drama film.
