After talking about her experience when shooting the famous ‘Lady Marmalade’ music video, Pink was accused of throwing shade at her co-feature Christina Aguilera. The singer appeared to imply that she got along well with Lil Kim and Maya, but not Aguilera.

The singer has since fired back against the accusations in a heated tweet.

How did the accusations start?

The drama began when Pink sat down for an interview with Buzzfeed and was asked to rate her favorite and least favorite music videos to film.

She listed ‘Lady Marmalade’ as the worst, saying: “It wasn’t very fun to make; I’m all about fun, and it was a lot of fuss. There were some ‘personalities’… Kim and Maya were nice,” hinting that there was some issue with Aguilera on set.

After a fan questioned her on the comments, Pink fired back, saying that she had no intention of getting into drama and that she was “busy selling [tickets] and albums and bake sales and s—.”

“Also- I kissed xtina’s mouth. I don’t need to kiss her a–.” The artist added.

The recent drama brought up past issues between the two artists.

Early in both artists’ careers, Pink recalled inviting Aguilera to her birthday party where they played spin the bottle. But when it was time for Pink to kiss Aguilera, she covered Aguilera’s mouth, which seemed to have offended her.

During the “Plead the Fifth” segment of Andy Cohen’s show ‘Watch What Happens Live’ in 2017, Pink explained the then feud between her and Aguilera, saying that the ‘Dirrty’ singer had “swung on [her] at a club.” She then said that they were both young at the time and had since made up when they appeared on ‘The Voice’.

After that, Aguilera also appeared on Cohen’s show saying that she had a “different memory of the night we had,” adding “I wouldn’t swing on her, she could beat my a–, are you kidding me?”

The success of ‘Lady Marmalade’

Despite the drama between the two stars, ‘Lady Marmalade’ became a hit for all the artists involved, with Pink calling the song “iconic” in her BuzzFeed interview.

The song was originally performed by the girl band Labelle in 1974 and features the vocals of American legend Patti Labelle. It became a hit and held the number-one spot on the Billboard Hot 100 for a week.
