Update:

An Australian influencer has earned a sizeable social-media following by spending thousands of dollars on having tattoos inked all over her body, explaining that she is “an all-or-nothing kind of person”.

The Melbourne-based content creator Blue Valentine has amassed over 50,000 followers on Instagram, plus a further 34,000 on TikTok, by sharing frequent posts in which she shows off her extensive body art.

A themed tattoo ‘bodysuit’

In a series of videos that she dubs her “Tattoo Tour”, Valentine details her ‘bodysuit’ of over 250 tattoos.

As she explains on her social-media profiles, she has split her skin markings up into several differently-themed areas, each “with one thing in common - 1950s pinup girls”.

Valentine’s tattoos, which cover her legs, arms, neck and torso - but do not appear to extend to facial markings - have been created under the themes “vintage signs”, “diner”, “military”, “circus”, “sailor”, “garage” and “western”.

Her “Tattoo Tour” clips have proved so popular that some have accrued seven-figure viewing numbers.

“A strong representation of my personality”

“I knew I wanted to do themes straight away,” Valentine told an interview with People magazine this week. “I like the organization of it. I picked my top themes, assessed which ones had the most images I wanted and they got the larger portions of my body.

My favorite tattoo is my throat tattoo. [It reads] ‘Not your Valentine’, Valentine being my last name. I think it’s a bold statement and is a strong representation of my personality.”

Valentine revealed to People that she spent around A$50,000 on tattooing sessions - around US$33,000 - over the five years that it took to apply her body art.

“I was initially scared I wouldn’t be able to handle the pain [of getting a tattoo], as I don’t like regular needles or taking blood,” she said. “I did a small traditional tattoo flower on my ribs, so if I tapped out, I wouldn’t have to look at it too much.”

“[But] as I left the studio, I got over [the pain of being tattooed] and booked in my first sleeve about a week later.”

Writing on her TikTok profile, Valentine explained that each of her chosen themes required around six tattooing sessions, which lasted six to eight hours apiece “depending on how many tattoos/how big the area”.

“You. Are. Everything”

Valentine’s tattoos have attracted messages of admiration from scores of Instagrammers and TikTokers.

You are literally a walking piece of art,” commented one user, while another said: “Your tattoos are so well thought [out], they are stunning and you are so gorgeous.” A further commenter added simply: “You. Are. Everything.”

Although Valentine says her bodysuit is now “completely full” - barring “my ears and the bottom of my feet” - it seems she would have to accommodate more tattoos before her collection could approach record-breaking status.

Who are the world’s most tattooed people?

According to Guinness World Records, the most tattooed woman on the planet is the American Esperance Lumineska Fuerzina, whose body is 99.8% covered in ink.

And even Fuerzina’s dedication to body art appears positively lacklustre when compared to that of Lucky Diamond Rich, an Australian man who has “more than 200% coverage”, Guinness World Records says.

A man recognized by Guinness as the globe’s most tattooed person, Lucky boasts markings that extend to “his eyelids, the delicate skin between the toes, the upper part of the ear canals and even his gums.”
