Post Malone (Austin Richard Post) began his musical career in 2011, and gained recognition with his 2015 debut single “White Iverson” which peaked at number 14 on the US Billboard Hot 100 with his debut studio album Stoney reaching number four on the Billboard album charts.

The versatile musician gained global acclaim for his ability to combine and fuse various genres including hip hop, pop, R&B, and trap.

Subsequent album releases cemented Malone’s status as one of contemporary music’s most versatile artists and during his career, Malone has seen his profile boosted with a series of major league collaborations with the lies of Nicki Minaj, Travis Scott The Weeknd and Beyonce.

However the Syracuse born musician moved into another level with his collaboration with Taylor Swift on ‘Fortnight’, the lead single from Swift’s eagerly awaited ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ album.

Today, the 29-year-old Malone is among the best-selling contemporary music artists, with over 80 million records sold. His other musical accolades include ten Billboard Music Awards, three American Music Awards, one MTV Video Music Award, and nine Grammy Award nominations.

Musical shift

Malone began 2024 by performing “America the Beautiful” at the Super Bowl LVIII and was one of the leading guest artists on Beyoncé's eighth studio album, Cowboy Carter collaborating on the track “Levi’s’ Jeans”.

His May single ‘I Had Some Help (with Morgan Wallen) (and teaser of the new direction) became one of the most streamed country songs ever on Spotify with nearly 14 million streams in just one day. The country trend continued for Malone after the release of June’s “Pour Me a Drink” featuring Blake Shelton which was released on 21 June.

All this activity led up to the release of the singer’s his sixth studio album, F-1 Trillion, which was released on 16 August and featured a veritable ‘who’s who’ from the world of country music with the likes of Luke Combs, Dolly Parton, Tim McGraw and Brad Paisley contributing to the record.

All of this seems to be fulfilling the promise Malone made back in 2015 when he posted: “When I turn 30, I’m becoming a country/folk singer”.

F-1 Trillion was produced by Louis Bell, Charlie Handsome and Hoskins and clocks in at just under the hour mark with 18 tracks with 15 of the 18 featuring guest contributions.
