‘Quiet on Set’: How and where to watch bonus episode ‘Breaking the Silence’
Drake Bell and other former child stars are to talk further about their experiences of abuse in a fifth episode of ‘Quiet on Set’.
Drake Bell hasn’t finished telling us his story. In the docuseries Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV, the actor and musician revealed that he was sexually abused as a 15-year-old by Brian Peck, a dialogue coach on the series The Amanda Show.
Bell, now 37, starred alongside Amanda Bynes on the Nickelodeon show, which ran from 1999 to 2002.
Quiet on Set impact leads to extra episode
Quiet on Set, which premiered in March - initially as a four-part series - has seen several former child stars and ex-Nickelodeon staff come forward with allegations of abuse and a toxic culture at the dedicated kids’ television channel.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, more than 20 million viewers have so far watched the unscripted programme, which airs on the TV channel Investigation Discovery and is streamed on the online platform Max.
Given the impact that Quiet on Set’s first four episodes have had, Investigation Discovery greenlit a bonus episode, Breaking the Silence, which will feature another interview with Bell.
How can I watch Quiet on Set: Breaking the Silence?
Investigation Discovery is to broadcast Quiet on Set: Breaking the Silence today, Sunday 7 April 2024, at 8pm ET/7pm CT/5pm PT. It will also be available to stream on Max.
In addition to featuring a new conversation with Bell, Breaking the Silence will again speak to former cast members of the Nickelodeon show All That, including Shane Lyons, Giovonnie Samuels and Bryan Hearne. The journalist Soledad O’Brien is to moderate.
In a statement earlier this week, ID president Jason Sarlanis said: “With Breaking the Silence, we’re digging deeper into the crucial conversations the docuseries ignited and exploring the lingering questions left in their wake to provide further insight from the brave voices who’ve spoken out previously and those who are coming forward again.”
