Quincy Jones, the legendary music producer renowned for his collaborations with Michael Jackson and Frank Sinatra, passed away at 91. His publicist, Arnold Robinson, confirmed that Jones died peacefully on Sunday night at his Bel Air home in Los Angeles, surrounded by family.

“Tonight, with full but broken hearts, we must share the news of our father and brother Quincy Jones’ passing,” the family said in a statement. “And although this is an incredible loss for our family, we celebrate the great life that he lived and know there will never be another like him.” No cause of death was shared.

Born on March 14, 1933, in Chicago, Jones’s career spanned over seven decades, during which he became a pivotal figure in American music. He produced Michael Jackson’s iconic albums “Off the Wall,” “Thriller,” and “Bad,” and worked with artists like Ray Charles and Aretha Franklin. His contributions earned him 28 Grammy Awards, solidifying his legacy in the music industry.

In 1974, Jones survived two brain aneurysms, which required surgeries and left him with six steel pins in his head. Despite this, he continued to produce groundbreaking music and remained active in the industry.

Jones’s influence extended beyond music; he was a philanthropist and advocate for various causes. His passing marks the end of an era, but his vast body of work continues to inspire artists and fans worldwide.
