Reba McEntire slams The Voice exit rumors
The Super Bowl national anthem singer was back for episode 1 of season 25 of the song-based competition looking for the best vocals in the U.S.
Is Reba McEntire leaving The Voice? No! The country legend, who recently performed the national anthem at the Super Bowl, slammed rumors that tension behind the scenes at the popular song contest show had led to her making the decision to exit. And indeed, in last night’s opening episode of season 25, Reba was there in all her glory - picking up artists Tae Lewis and Josh Sanders for her team.
McEntire wrote on X (the platform formerly known as Twitter) ahead of last night’s show to ask people NOT to click on articles saying she’s leaving The Voice as it is “not true”. She also said the websites promoting the rumors are fake, looking to lure people in with “clickbait”.
McEntire also said the fake websites are falsely claiming she sells “weight loss gummy products”, which she says she does not do.
McEntire joined The Voice in May 2023
Reba McEntire became a coach on The Voice in May 2023, replacing Blake Shelton. She had previously been involved with the show, serving as battle advisor for Team Blake on the show’s first season, as an All-Teams advisor on the Top 12 live shows (season eight) and as a mega mentor in the previous season, number 23.
She took two artists to the season finale, Jacquie Roar and Ruby Leigh, but had to be satisfied with Leigh taking the runner-up spot as coach Niall Horan’s Huntley soared to victory.
The second episode of Season 25 of The Voice airs on Tuesday, February 27. With Reba McEntire in place.
