With the red carpet well underway, here’s a look at some of the notable looks for those attending the 43rd annual BRIT Awards celebrating the UK’s most popular music.

Taking place at the O2 Arena in London, the ceremony is set to last two hours. A considerably more brief ceremony compared to the Grammys or Oscars which often go over the three and half-hour mark.

Red carpet looks

While an array of celebrities showcased their best looks on the pre-ceremony red carpet, all-black outfits seem to be a common theme among the best-dressed looks. Following close behind are bright warm toned monochromatic head-to-toe outfits.

International pop star Harry Styles arrived in what appears to be a velvet and satin black suit that features a deep v-neck cut, flared waist and pants, and a large black flower just under his neck. The star opted to wear no dress shirt underneath the suit jacket, choosing accessories with a gold cross necklace and matching rings instead.

Singer Jessie J shows off her baby bump on the red carpet with a bright red co-ord set with matching heels and earrings. The set covers virtually every part of her body except for her belly. Just hours before the ceremony, the singer announced that she is expecting a baby boy on her Instagram account.

Other significant looks of the night include Sam Smith’s high-neck latex one-piece and British girl group Flo’s matching Balmain maroon leather coordinated outfits. The girls of Flo have already won an award for the night, winning BRIT’s Rising Star award.

Performer of the night

So far, the list of expected performers for the night includes Lizzo, Harry Styles, Lewis Capaldi, Stormzy, Wet Leg, Cat Burns, David Guetta & Becky Hill & Ella Henderson and Sam Smith & Kim Petras. Harry Styles opened the ceremony with his performance of ‘As it Was.’

Who’s in attendance and who’s not?

Not every artist or group who received nominations for tonight’s award ceremony is in attendance. Most notably, Taylor Swift, The 1975, Arctic Monkeys, Beyonce, Calvin Harris, Dua Lipa, Jack Harlow, and Bebe Rexha all did not attend the ceremony despite their nominations.

In contrast, Charli XCX, Rina Sawayama, Sam Ryder, and Nova Twins are all in attendance as nominees but will not be performing.
