Just one day before the 2023 Met Gala is set to take place on Monday, May 1, Rihanna is showing she’s already ready for Monday’s Karl Lagerfeld theme when she hit the town wearing vintage Chanel pieces.

She left New York City’s Caviar Russe restaurant wearing pieces from the famous fashion house’s 1994 Fall collection–designed by none other than Lagerfeld himself, who is the 2023 Met Gala’s inspiration.

She shared photos of her outfit on Instagram with the caption: “not even monday.”

What did she wear?

The ensemble worn by the ‘Umbrella’ singer is a black and white number. She wore a black and white fur hat designed by Benny Andallo, and a white mini-fur dress by Coperni that showed off her baby bump.

Stealing the show was the vintage Chanel black cropped jacket with white fur on the edges.

She accessorized the look with Chanel logo glasses, snowflake-shaped diamond earrings, and black Amina Muaddi strappy stilettos with diamond ankle straps.

Will Rihanna be at the 2023 Met Gala?

It has yet to be confirmed by Rihanna or her team if she’ll be walking the red carpet at tomorrow’s Met Gala, but last night’s choice of outfit was definitely on theme. Her Instagram caption also seems to be hinting at a possible Monday appearance.

Rihanna has turned heads with a number of jaw-dropping outfits at previous Met Galas. This includes her 2015 yellow Guo Pei gown, which weighed 55 pounds, and found the singer maneuvering a 9-foot train in honor of the theme ‘China: Through the Looking Glass.’

Then, in 2018, Rihanna blessed the audience with a Margiela-designed Pope-inspired outfit that saw the singer donning a bedazzled silver papal mitre hat, with matching robes and mini dress for the ‘Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination’ theme.

The mother of two-to-be doesn’t seem to be letting pregnancy get in her way either. In fact, the singer seems to be taking as many chances to show off her growing baby bump, most notably when she returned to the stage in February to perform at the Super Bowl halftime show, when she first revealed she was pregnant with baby number two with rapper A$AP Rocky.

She later performed at the Oscars in March, singing her song from the ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ soundtrack, ‘Lift Me Up’, which was nominated for an Oscar. Again, the singer wore an outfit that accentuated her second child.
