Rihanna’s biggest challenge ahead of Super Bowl Halftime show
Rihanna’s Super Bowl performance is almost here, with the singer telling fans to gear up for a celebration.
Super Bowl LVII is almost here, and with it, Rihanna’s anticipated return to the stage.
The singer is back in the musical spotlight following a lengthy hiatus. Her last album, ‘Anti’, was released in 2016, while she hasn’t performed live since 2018.
As a result fans are waiting with bated breath to see what she has prepared for Sunday.

Rihanna appeared during a Super Bowl 2023 press conference on Thursday, and she told fans that the hardest thing about the performance is trying to narrow down her set list.
“That was the hardest, hardest part. Deciding how to maximize 13 minutes, but also celebrate. And that’s what this show’s going to be; a celebration,” Rihanna told Apple Music Radio’s Nadeska Alexis.
“Some songs we have to lose because of that, and that’s going to be okay. We did a pretty good job at narrowing it down. There’s probably been about 39 versions of the setlist right now. We’re on our 39th. Every little change counts.”
Rihanna and preparation
She added that the hard work is ramping up ahead of Sunday, with a big rehearsal set to take place on Thursday.
“We’ve been working on it for a while, and every day it just gets closer and closer to the finished product,” she added. “Today’s a really big rehearsal, a really important one, that’s going to be crucial for Sunday.
“It’s a lot of preparation. This is the week that – it really is [about] being tested. Everyone, we’re just tightening up everything, everybody’s dialing in, everybody’s tuning up and [it’s] a lot of moving parts.”
One thing Rihanna is guaranteeing is that her Caribbean culture will be a big part of the halftime performance
“That’s a big part of why it’s important for me to do this show,” she said. “Representing for my country, Barbados. Representing for Black women everywhere. That’s really important.”

Super Bowl LVII between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles is scheduled to be played on Sunday, Feb. 12, 2023 at 6:30pm ET.
