Robert De Niro and Jimmy Kimmel have a laugh and take a swipe at Trump and his attack on Tylenol

Jimmy Kimmel and Robert DeNiro spoke on the former’s return to television.

Born in Leeds, Joe finished his Spanish degree in 2018 before becoming an English teacher to football (soccer) players and managers, as well as collaborating with various football media outlets in English and Spanish. He joined AS in 2022 and covers both the men’s and women’s game across Europe and beyond.
Update:

In a sensational turn of events, Jimmy Kimmel was reinstated on the air after being taken off due to his comments regarding Donald Trump’s reaction to the death of right-wing media personality Charlie Kirk.

In his final show before the news of his cancellation broke, Kimmel commented that Trump, instead of choosing to mourn the death of his so-called friend, decided to take the time in front of the media to gawk about the new White House ballroom.

Despite the madness of Trump’s apparent lack of emotion, it was Kimmel’s comments that caused the stir, with his eventual cancellation the outcome; amid reports of pressure from parent companies, TV networks, and the Federal Communications Commission, it can certainly be argued that it became hard to see how the Trump administration could have not played a hugely influential role.

“I hear Jimmy Kimmel is next”

Then there was the Truth Social post from Trump that was dug out of the internet void and brought to the front of everyone’s mind: "I hear Jimmy Kimmel is next," he had written after his authoritarian regime gripped tighter around the throats of those on the ‘left’.

And so, on Kimmel’s grand return — you can work out why Disney reinstated him, I’ll leave the cancellation protest here — he spoke to Robert De Niro, who was playing the curious role of the chair of the Federal Communications Commission.

After a brief sketch between the host and his guest via video call, De Niro didn’t finish up without taking his chance to leave one on Donald Trump. While answering a pretend phone call to the president, De Niro told Kimmel that he had to go, as a “couple of cases of Tylenol fell off a truck and now I got to figure out how to put autism in them.” This is a reference to Trump’s recent claim that the popular medicine causes autism. I’m not even going to go any further with that.

That sounds tricky, good luck to you sir‚” replied Kimmel, closing off the call with the famous actor. “I’ll be watching you Kimmel,” replied De Niro, “but maybe not on ABC.”
