Robert De Niro reveals baby’s name
The reveal comes just days after Robert De Niro shared he had just welcomed a seventh child.
After recently revealing the arrival of his seventh child, we now know the name of Robert De Niro’s newborn.
The reveal took place on ‘CBS Mornings’ on Thursday, with De Niro sharing with Gayle King that the baby is a girl and is named Gia Virginia Chen-De Niro.
King shared a photo of the newborn on the show, while also adding that Gia was born on April 6, weighing eight pounds and six ounces.
The journalist also told viewers that, according to De Niro, the baby with partner Tiffany Chen was planned.
“They both wanted this baby,” she explained. “They’re over the moon. She was brought here in love. He’s very psyched about it.”
De Niro shared revealed the newborn during a recent interview
De Niro revealed he was now a dad of seven while speaking with ET Canada about his new film, ‘About My Father’.
During the interview, host Brittnee Blair stated that the actor had six kids, with De Niro correcting her.
“Seven actually,” he revealed, “I just had a baby.”
De Niro shares two children - Drena, 51, and Raphael, 46 - with his first wife, Diahnne Abbott. The couple divorced back in 1988.
He also has twin sons Aaron and Julian, 27, with former girlfriend Toukie Smith. He married Grace Hightower in 1997, and the two share Elliot, 25, and Helen, 11. They ended up splitting in 2018.
While De Niro didn’t reveal the identity of his newest child’s mother when news first dropped, we now know it is Chen. He was photographed out to dinner with a visibly pregnant Chen back in March 2023.
The pair have been linked with one one another after they were spotted holding hands in France back in 2021.
“His significant other, Tiffany is such a beautiful woman,” Kim Catrall, who stars alongside De Niro in ‘About My Father’, told Extra. “I’m happy for both of them.”
De Niro plays a “cool dad’ alongside Sebastian Maniscalco in ‘About My Father’. However, the 79-year-old told ET Canada that he’s more of an “okay” dad than a “cool one.”
“My kids disagree with me at times, and they’re respectful,” said De Niro.
“My daughter, she’s 11, she gives me grief sometimes, and I argue with her. I adore her, but, you know. And my youngest now, that’ll be more to come. But, that’s what it is.”
