Robert De Niro welcomes his seventh child at the age of 79

Robert De Niro has revealed that he has just welcomed his seventh child at the age of 79, confirming the news in a recent interview.

The actor had six children from previous relationships but has revealed very little information about the latest member of his family, with the sex and name of the baby still unknown.

In an interview with ET Canada, while promoting his latest movie, ‘About My Father’ starring Sebastian Maniscalco, De Niro spoke candidly about his approach to parenting.

“I mean, there’s no way around it with kids. I don’t like to have to lay down the law and stuff like that. But, [sometimes] you just have no choice,” the actor explained.

“And any parent, I think, would say the same thing. You always want to do the right thing by the children and give them the benefit of the doubt but sometimes you can’t.”

The interviewer then mentioned De Niro’s six kids, that is, until De Niro corrected her saying that he, in fact, has seven kids.

“I just had a baby,” he revealed.

De Niro’s reps have since confirmed the news, without revealing the sex or name of the baby, nor details on how the mother, rumored to be De Niro’s girlfriend Tiffany Chen, is doing.

De Niro went on to say despite his years of experience being a father, he’s not a “cool dad”.

“You know, my kids disagree with me at times, and they’re respectful. My daughter, she’s 11, she gives me grief sometimes and I argue with her. I adore her, but, you know. And my youngest now, that’ll be more to come. But, that’s what it is.”

Who are Robert De Niro’s other children?

De Niro has six other children from three different women. With his first wife Diahnne Abbott, he shares Drena, 51, and Raphael, 46. With his ex-wife, Grace Hightower, he shares Elliot, 25, and Helen, 11.

And with ex-girlfriend, Toukie Smith, he is the father of twin sons Julian and Aaron, who are now 27.

De Niro also has four grandchildren, three from his son Raphael, and one from his daughter Drena.

Who is the mother of his seventh child?

De Niro has most recently been linked to Tiffany Chen, a tai chi instructor. The two met in 2015 on the set of the movie ‘The Intern’, with Chen playing a martial arts instructor. The two were then believed to be romantically involved by 2021.

Last month, the two were spotted by paparazzi outside the restaurant Giorgio Baldi in Los Angeles, along with comedian Billy Crystal and actor Harvey Keitel, with Chen sporting a baby bump as she walked out of the restaurant.
