Selena Gomez addressed fan concerns over her health by letting them know her hands shake as a side-effect of her lupus medication.

The 30-year-old recently shared a clip on TikTok where she goes through her makeup and skincare routine, which included gently washing her face.

At one point in the video her hands appeared unsteady as she tried to apply micellar water to a sponge.

“I shake because of my medication for lupus,” Gomez wrote in the comments section in response to a now deleted clip from another TikTok user. “Also read my disclaimer. I ain’t no pro [laughing face emoji].”

PSA I got most of these products free. I ain’t just rolling like that everywhere. Use any serum to take off make up before washing. It breaks it up nicely. Also use a sponge to wipe eyes to treat eyes delicately when removing make up. K I’m done pretending I know what I’m taking about.

In the original clip, Gomez removed makeup while making silly faces at the camera.

“PSA I got most of these products free,” she wrote in the captions. “I ain’t just rolling like that everywhere. Use any serum to take off make up before washing. It breaks it up nicely.

“Also use a sponge to wipe eyes to treat eyes delicately when removing make up. K I’m done pretending I know what I’m talking about.”

Gomez vocal about her experience with lupus

The ‘Only Murders in the Building’ star was diagnosed with lupus, which the Mayo Clinic defines as “a disease that occurs when your body’s immune system attacks its own tissues and organs”, in 2014.

In 2017 the Disney Channel alum was forced to undergo a kidney transplant because of the disease, with friend Francia Raisa as her donor.

So I found out I needed to get a kidney transplant due to my Lupus and was recovering. It was what I needed to do for my overall health,” Gomez wrote via Instagram in September 2017.

There aren’t words to describe how I can possibly thank my beautiful friend Francia Raisa. She gave me the ultimate gift and sacrifice by donating her kidney to me. I am incredibly blessed. I love you so much sis.”

In her 2022 documentary, ‘Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me’, the actress opened up about her struggle with lupus, which flared up again in 2020.

“I haven’t felt it since I was younger,” she said. “In the morning when I wake up, I immediately start crying because it just hurts, like, everything.”
