Shakira joined by two sons as she leaves Barcelona ahead of Miami move
Shakira and her two sons are headed for a family trip, and aren’t expected to return to Spain ahead of her move to Miami.
Shakira was joined by her two sons as the trio left a Barcelona airport for a family holiday on Sunday.
Reports suggest the singer left the Catalan capital at around midday. Although it isn’t known where the trio are headed, they aren’t expected to return ahead of her move to Florida.
Shakira was spotted in a casual denim ensemble, making her way through the airport with extensive luggage.
The jeans and matching jacket were completed with a blue top, with Shakira rounding out the look with reflective shades.
As for sons Milan, 10, and Sasha, eight, they joined their mother with sporty attire.
Shakira’s upcoming move to Miami
The trip comes amidst reports ex-Gerard Piqué isn’t happy that he was only given a few days notice by the artist about her impending move.
Its reported Shakira will be heading to Miami later this week so that Milan and Sasha can begin school on April 11.
Previous reports stated the Colombian singer was keen to move to the United states earlier this year, though those plans were shelved due to the poor health of her 91-year-old dad William Mubarak.
This was reported prior to her mother Nidia Ripoll being hospitalized in Barcelona after a blood clot was found in her leg.
Shakira and Piqué's split
Shakira and Piqué confirmed the end of their relationship last June after spending the previous 11 years together.
The former Barcelona defender’s relationship with Clara Chia emerged soon after, with Piqué telling El Pais he was happy despite the big changes in his life. He also said he would continue to try and protect his children.
“Each parent has the responsibility to try to do the best for their children. It’s about protecting them. That’s the work of all parents with their children. That’s what I’m focused on and that’s my job as a father,” he said.
The couple reached an agreement regarding their children in December following prolonged negotiations.
As part of the agreement, Piqué will be able to spend his holidays with the children. Shakira’s desire to move to Miami was reported to be a major sticking point in negotiations.
