‘Sinners’ trailer and release date: What we know about the movie Josh Allen’s girlfriend appears in

Set in 1930s Louisiana, Ryan Coogler’s gothic supernatural horror action movie Sinners is already being touted as one of the most anticipated films scheduled to hit theaters at the start of the New Year.

So far, we have only been treated to brief teasers about the horror thriller which was written and directed by Coogler (Black Panther). Filming started earlier this year in and around New Orleans. But until this week, very little about the film, (which is believed to possibly have a vague vampire theme), or its plot has been revealed.

Filming was completed in mid-July.

A greater evil awaits twin brothers on their return home

The story centers around Smoke, played by Michael B. Jordan and his twin brother (which could also be Jordan in a dual role). When the brothers return to their hometown to get their lives back on track, they witness a deeply traumatic event, of which they become inextricably involved.

As Smoke narrates, “I’ve been all over this world. I’ve seen men die in ways I didn’t even know was possible. Of all the things that I’ve seen, I ain’t ever seen no demons, no ghosts, no magic... till now”.

Jordan gave us another glimpse of what’s in store by publishing the official film poster on social media, with line relating to one of the film’s most haunting quotes: “You keep dancing with the devil… and one day he’s gonna follow you home.”

As the official synopsis tells us, “Trying to leave their troubled lives behind, twin brothers return to their hometown to start again, only to discover that an even greater evil is waiting to welcome them back”.

Who are the cast members for Sinners?

Jordan has starred in all of Coogler’s previous feature films: Fruitvale Station (2013), Creed (2015), Black Panther (2018) and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022). Other cast members include Josh Allen’s girlfriend Hailee Steinfeld (Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and True Grit), Jack O’Connell (Rogue Heroes, Ferrari), Wunmi Mosaku (Loki, We Own This City), Jayme Lawson (Genius: MLK/X, The Woman King), Omar Benson Miller (True Lies, Ballers) and Delroy Lindo (The Harder They Fall, Da 5 Bloods).

Li Jun Li (Babylon), Lola Kirke (Winning Time), Yao, Miles Caton and Peter Dreimanis have joined the cast in undisclosed roles.

According to numerous reports, Sinners will be distributed by Warner Bros. and is due to premiere in the United States on March 7, 2025, exclusively in IMAX movie theaters.
