Sydney Sweeney may be heading to Her Majesty’s Secret Service. The breakout star of “Euphoria” and box office hit “Anyone But You”is reportedly the top contender to become the next Bond girl in the upcoming reboot of the James Bond franchise, according to British tabloid The Sun.

The next chapter in the long-running spy saga is being developed by Amazon and will be directed by “Dune” and “Blade Runner 2049″ filmmaker Denis Villeneuve—who, sources say, is particularly keen on casting Sweeney.

Why Sydney Sweeney is the top choice for James Bond reboot

She’s at the very top of the list,” a source close to the production told the media “Denis thinks she’s incredibly talented and has a huge following among younger audiences, which is crucial for giving the franchise a fresh edge. They’ve spent a lot of time together recently, and he’s been impressed by how quickly her career has taken off.”

A Bond girl built for action

Landing the role of a Bond girl has always meant more than just glamor and intrigue—it also requires serious physical commitment. And Sweeney, 27, has already proven she’s got what it takes. The source noted that she “has the athleticism and the screen presence to handle action scenes, while also bringing the elegance and charisma that Bond girls are known for.”

Sweeney recently underwent an intense physical transformation to play real-life boxing legend Christy Martin in an upcoming biopic. In an interview with W magazine, she revealed she gained nearly 30 pounds and spent hours training in kickboxing and weightlifting to prepare for the role.

If cast, Sweeney would follow in the footsteps of past Bond women like Léa Seydoux and Ana de Armas—but with her own Gen Z spin. And with the Bond franchise looking to reinvent itself for a new generation, she may be just what the spy ordered.
