Taylor can’t stop making millions: This is how much money Taylor Swift is making on Spotify
New figures released by the streaming platform revealed that she was the highest-earning artist of the past year.

Once again, Taylor Swift is topping the charts. Her 12 No. 1 songs on the Billboard Hot 100 helped her become the first music-first billionaire artist and she remains a commercial behemoth.
Data from Spotify reveals that Taylor Swift was the No. 1 streamed artist on the platform for 2024. In total, she banked an incredible $103 million in royalties from Spotify last year.
Across her career she has recorded 96.5 billion streams on Spotify alone, netting her a total of $386 million. She currently has 442 songs on the platform and has more than 96 million unique monthly listeners.
Her astonishing streaming figures have helped to amass a personal wealth of $1.6 billion, according to Forbes. She has just finished a 125-show global tour and her ‘Era Tour’ film has raked in more than $260 million in box office revenue since it was released in October 2023.
Why did Taylor Swift cut ties with Spotify?
Streaming royalties are now worth around $2 million per week to Swift but she previously split from Spotify over a lengthy dispute. In 2014 Swift removed all of her music from Spotify due to an ongoing conflict over the platform’s business model. Instead, she kept the music on paid-for platforms TIDAL and Rhapsody.
In a statement, Swift said: “Music is art, and art is important and rare. Important, rare things are valuable. Valuable things should be paid for. It’s my opinion that music should not be free, and my prediction is that individual artists and their labels will someday decide what an album’s price point is.”
What followed was a lengthy court battle over her ability to purchase the rights to her own music, leading to her re-recording all of her album’s up to ‘Lover’. These ‘Taylor’s Version' records were then re-added to Spotify and now her entire back catalogue is available to stream.
“I have recently begun re-recording my older music and it has already proven to be both exciting and creatively fulfilling,” she explained. “I have plenty of surprises in store. I want to thank you guys for supporting me through this ongoing saga, and I can’t wait for you to hear what I’ve been dreaming up.”
