This is the youngest actress in history to receive seven Oscars nominations and it’s thanks to these films

The nominations for the 2026 Academy Awards were announced in late January creating quite the buzz in the lead-up to the March 15 ceremony. Take for example, the record set by The Sinners as the most nominated film ever, and the milestone reached by Emma Stone, who is now the youngest woman in Oscar history to receive seven nominations.
Emma Stone’s two nominations this year come from the black comedy thriller Bugonia, which is nominated for Best Picture (Stone is also a producer on the film). She has also been nominated for Best Actress.
With these two nominations, the actress has now received seven nominations in total at just 37 years old.
She is also the first woman to be nominated twice for acting and producing in the same film, her first time was Poor Things (2023).
Should she win Best Actress, it would be her third and she will join a very select group of actresses that have taken home at least three golden statuettes in that category. Frances McDormand and Meryl Streep, and Katharine Hepburn holds the record with four.
Here is the impressive list of nominations earned by the American star.
Emma Stone’s seven Oscar nominations
- Birdman (1) – Best Supporting Actress
- La La Land (1) – Best Actress
- The Favourite (1) – Best Supporting Actress
- Poor Things (2) – Best Actress and Best Picture (producer)
- Bugonia (2) – Best Actress and Best Picture (producer)
Where to watch Bugonia
In Bugonia, two young conspiracy theorists become obsessed with the idea that elites from another planet secretly control the world. Their belief grows so strong that they decide to kidnap the president of a powerful corporation after concluding that she is actually an alien who plans to destroy Earth. The film is a remake of the 2003 Korean movie Save the Green Planet.
Bugonia is available on the Peacock Premium/Plus streaming platform and can be purchased or rented via Amazon Video, Apple TV, and Fandango At Home.
