Update:

Taylor Swift was in attendance at Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans, watching boyfriend Travis Kelce fall just short of a third consecutive championship.

The singer’s relationship with Kelce has been a major boost for the NFL and has reportedly added around $1 billion in brand value, opening the game up to new audiences around the world. Swift is regularly seen supporting Kelce at Chiefs games and has been tipped to perform at the Super Bowl one day. However that Swift fans may have to wait a little longer before seeing her at the Halftime Show.

The Daily Mail reports that Swift has decided not to perform at the Super Bowl until Travis Kelce has retired from the game, avoiding the prospect of performing at a game that her partner is playing in.

“She doesn’t want to do it now until Travis is fully retired as she would like to be at the game supporting him rather than performing at it,” a source told the British publication.

The Super Bowl Halftime Show has provided a global stage for Usher, Rihanna, Eminem, Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg in recent years, but few performances have sparked controversy like that of Kendrick Lamar at the 2025 championship game.

Kendrick has been in a very public rap beef with Drake throughout the last year and took the opportunity of the biggest stage in US entertainment to reignite the rivalry. After teasing it throughout the performance, Kendrick ended his set with ‘Not Like Us’, the controversial Drake diss track that is currently the subject of a lawsuit from Drake against record label Universal.

As for Taylor Swift’s long-awaited Super Bowl performance, fans may not have too long to wait. Travis Kelce is now 35 and speculation has already risen about his future with the Chiefs. If the three-time NFL champion decides to retire in the near future, it may soon be Swift’s chance to perform on the Super Bowl stage.
