Big movies hit theaters in 2024, with a new set of titles being prepared for the big screen in 2025. Whatever genre you enjoy, 2025 has a picture ready for you–from superhero and dinosaur stories to new live-action, animated, horror, and sports films.
This year, the highest-grossing film of 2024 was ‘Inside Out 2,’ which, as of December 25, has grossed $1.6 billion worldwide, according to The Numbers. The second highest-grossing film was 'Deadpool & Wolverine,' also surpassed the billion-dollar mark.
In third place is ‘Despicable Me 4,’ followed by ‘Moana 2,’ ‘Dune: Part Two,’ and ‘Wicked,’ the second part of which will arrive in 2025.
Get ready for these movies coming out in 2025
Sam Wilson, played by Anthony Mackie, returns for ‘Captain America: Brave New World,’ which hits theaters in the United States on February 14. On March 21, the new and controversial live-action ‘Snow White’ hits theaters, starring Rachel Zegler.
On May 23, ‘Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning’ is coming out, the latest film starring Tom Cruise. The live-action ‘Lilo & Stitch' is expected to be released on the same day.
On June 13, the live-action ‘How to Train Your Dragon’ will hit the big screen.
July will be a big month for movie lovers. 'Jurassic World Rebirth' will be released on July 2. 'Superman' is coming out on July 11, and 'The Fantastic Four: First Stepsis' is coming out on July 25.
On August 8, audiences will see Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan star together once again ‘Freakier Friday’ to reprise their roles from the Disney classic ‘Freaky Friday.’ For horror movie fans, 'The Conjuring: Last Rites' will hit theaters on September 5.
‘Wicked: For Good’ is set to release on November 21, almost a year after the first film premiered. Following that, ‘Zootopia 2’ will debut on November 26. To wrap up 2025 spectacularly, ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash,’ the third chapter of the saga directed by James Cameron, will be released on December 19.
