The bet that prompted Tom Brady to pose in his underwear
Tom Brady shared a selfie of him wearing nothing but underwear.
Tom Brady looks to be enjoying retirement after surprising fans on social media with a post in which he’s only wearing a pair of brown boxers.
The post comes less than a week after Brady announced his retirement from football for a second time, but it looks as though he’s keeping busy while away from the gridiron.
Brady posted a shirtless selfie from bed while wearing boxers from his athleisure line Brady Brand.
“Did I do it right? @Edelman11 @RobGronkowski@bradybrand 😬😬,” he captioned the snap, asking friends and former teammates Julian Edelman and Rob Gronkowski if he had lived up to his side of a bet.
What bet did Tom Brady make?
It all stems back from June 2022 when Brady said he would recreate underwear photos from a Brady Brand campaign if the post hit over 40,000 likes. The tweet currently has over 49,000 likes.
The official Brady Brand Twitter account reminded Tom about the bet early on Monday morning, with the 45-year-old happily living up to his side of the wager.
It’s the second time Brady has had social media buzzing in a week after announcing the end of his pro football career on February 1.
“I’m retiring, for good,” he announced on social media. “I know the process was a pretty big deal last time, so when I woke up this morning I figured I’d just press record and let you guys know first.
“I won’t be long-winded, you only get one super emotional retirement essay, and I used mine up last year. So, I really thank you guys, so much, to every single one of you for supporting me.
‘80 for Brady’ performing well
Along with paying off bets, Brady was recently busy promoting the release of his movie, ‘80 for Brady’, which hit theatres last Friday.
The 45-year-old co-stars alongside Lily Tomlin, Jane Fonda, Rita Moreno and Sally Field in a movie about four lifelong friends travelling to watch the quarterback and his New England Patriots play in Super Bowl LI.
The movie, which is also produced by Brady, had found success at the box-office so far, grossing $12.6 million for its domestic opening weekend.
That was good enough for second place behind M. Night Shyamalan’s latest film, ‘Knock at the Cabin’, which brought in $14.2 million.
