The First Teaser Trailer for ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem’ just dropped
The long-awaited trailer for the upcoming teenage mutant ninja turtles animated reboot is finally here
After unveiling the full cast two days ago, the first trailer for ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem’ is finally here. The one-minute and 54-second long teaser gives longtime fans of the series a glimpse into the distinct animation and storyline the movie will follow.
In the preview, Leonardo (Nicolas Cantu), Donatello (Micah Abbey), Michelangelo (Shamon Brown Jr.), and Raphael (Brady Noon), are shown goofing off and considering getting pizza before jumping into action in their native New York City streets.
The background track, ‘Can I Kick it?” by A Tribe Called Quest plays throughout the teaser. The movie will be directed by Jeff Rowe and Kyler Spears.
The official synopsis
“After years of being sheltered from the human world, the Turtle brothers set out to win the hearts of New Yorkers and be accepted as normal teenagers through heroic acts,” reads an official synopsis of the movie.
It adds, “Their new friend April O’Neil helps them take on a mysterious crime syndicate, but they soon get in over their heads when an army of mutants is unleashed upon them.”
The new film’s style has a distinctly colorful comic book-style animation. Variety describes it as “reminiscent of 2018′s ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.’” The upcoming movie will also be the second fully animated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to hit the big screen.
