Keanu Reeves returns with ‘John Wick: Chapter 4′ and the fight for freedom

For fans of the ‘John Wick’ franchise, you’re in luck.

The latest chapter of the action movie franchise is coming out on March 24, and the last trailer was recently released, giving fans one last look before the movie hits theaters.

With ‘The Matrix’ veterans Keanu Reeves and Laurence Fishburne teaming up for the big movie, Reeves’ John Wick travels to the heart of the criminal underworld to fight the most powerful villains.

John Wick is fighting for freedom

With the High Table at its height of power, Wick is determined to defeat them and earn his freedom with a number of allies.

The new movie finds Wick traveling around the world, from New York to Paris, and Japan to Berlin as he fights his way out of the grips of the High Table.

During a fight scene, The Elder is heard saying “The only way John Wick will ever have freedom and peace is in death.”

The camera focuses on Wick’s face. “Yeah, not really,” he replies.

The unnamed dog seen in previous movies also makes a brief appearance in the trailer.

Bill Skarsgård joins the fray as the High Table’s Marquis de Gramont, as well as martial arts star Donnie Yen as Caine, Laurence Fishburne as Bowery King, Lance Reddick as Charon, Rina Sawayama as Akira and Ian McShane as Winston.

New expansions in the world of John Wick

Along with chapter 4 in the John Wick franchise, two spinoffs are in the works.

‘Ballerina’ is an upcoming film set between ‘John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum’ and ‘Chapter 4′, which finds Ana de Armas playing a ballerina/assassin hunting the murderers of her family.

In the world of television, ‘The Continental’ is a miniseries set in the John Wick universe, focusing on the Continental Hotel of the films. The series will center on a yet unnamed protagonist, with Reeves’ Wick making an appearance or two.

The new series began filming in 2021 and was sold to Peacock by Starz in August 2022, with an as-of-yet unspecified release date.
